I got a tattoo three days and just ran out of ointment. I hear people talkin about don't use ointment but use lotion. Would gold bond body lotion for extra dry and itchy skin work? Also the red in my tattoo is kinda mis-colorin, is that the permanent part or is it because my skins peeling?
Tattoo question....?
Use the original polysporin - works miracles.
Reply:dont pick the scabs they do take out the colour and use bepamthem cream not to much though onces a day and at night dont smother it you will ruin it. if colour is already missing wait and then go back to the tattoo place and they will go over it.
Reply:dont pull the skin my red color was permanent it looked like that too get the right ointment
Reply:i looked up how to care for tattoos, u can find some very helpful stuff (like ur not suppossed to rub it-- only pat it)...
Reply:different tattooist have diff instructions, i was told not to use ointment, and i didnt. i used curel's water based lotion, and it was amazing, because it was moist, but wasnt so thick that it would pull my skin when i was applying it. another one that works is vaseline intensive care, only its kinda thick so it pulls the skin and burned a little when it was applied, lotion worked fine with me.
Reply:Do not use chapstick! You want lotion that comes from a pump bottle. Do not use a tub that has been used before. I personally use St. Ives vitamin E lotion.
Reply:I've used lotion on all of my tatts and have had no problem. I've lost not coloring, haven't had an infection, no scarring, no "bleeding" of ink, etc. (and i have red ink also).
As far as losing color, wait until your tattoo heals. You'll know whether or not your skin took up the color. Red is one of those inks that people react differently too. There's nothing you can do about it now anyways other than to take care of it nicely.
Good luck!
