Allergies to NuvaRing?

After having the NuvaRing in for a little over a week, I started experiencing itchy skin on my hands, soles of feet, knees, and hives on my butt. I have been taking Benadryl since Tuesday, and it's starting to become a nuisance! I wondered if anyone had experienced similar symptoms after being on the NuvaRing?

Allergies to NuvaRing?
this is personal advice, not medical advice

actually, allergic reactions aren't particularly common for nuvaring. they are not considered a significant side effect. however, that does not rule it out.

have you been exposed to anything else that may be the proximate cause? this, of course, is sometimes very difficult to tell. but consider anything else that is recent that may cause this. if nothing stands out, generally the patient is recommended to discontinue the device. if you do, and the symptoms disappear, you likely know the cause

fortunately, there are many other potential contraception methods. if this doesn't work for you, you might try other options. good luck with it
Reply:There are about 1 million possible side effect using this product, your symptoms are 1 of them. I'd try using something else for a little while...at least till symptoms subside to make sure its "that" and not something else. The old saying goes...you play...you pay.....well your paying.
