Hi. I just recently bought a starter kit from Burt's Bees with products for use all over your body, along with some separate products. I really loved them, but after about two days of daily use, I completely broke out in hives (hot, red, itchy skin surrounding risen white blotches of skin that spread). I don't know what product caused this (possibly an ingredient in all of them) but I have never had an allergic reaction or something weird happen to anything on my body before, and I am concerned. I wrote to the company with full details.
Has anyone else had this also, and is there anything I can do to rid me of this? It really is uncomfortable and frightening!
Broke out in hives due to Burt's Bees?
You are having an allergic reaction to something and try taking some Benadryl. Its an antihistamine so it helps with allergic reactions. But don't use it again and I'm sorry it happened. Also don't pick at them they have to heal like a wound.
Reply:i am so glad i could help!!! Report It
Reply:Heh, that is ironic.
Reply:That is very frightening!!!
I would never have thought that would happen with Burt's Bee's because they are a very well known company and use a lot of natural ingredient. Hopefully the company will give you your money back or something.
I don't think there is anything you can do to stop being allergic to the products. I do think you should tell you doctor so they can give you an allergy test and find out exactly what you are allergic to so it doesn't happen again!
Reply:It's just an allergic reaction. I wouldn't do anything. the samwe thing happened to me, but it was with some other lotion that I got at Bath %26amp; Body works. It will go away on its own. Don't touch it, scratch it, or put anything on it. There's no need to write to the company. Some thing just don't go well with certain people. You were allergic to something in the lotion, that's all.
Reply:Read the ingredients used to make the product and are you allergic to any of them? If you are having a very serious reaction talk to your doctor about possibly being allergic.
You can also try to not take hot showers/baths. Hot water makes the body itchy.
feel better.
Reply:Well check the ingrediants and to see if your allergic to anything mabe it was a bad set. DONT buy it again and use creams to stop the redness of the hives ☺
Reply:Whether it's natural or not, you could still be allergic to something in it. I'd probably try and figure out what product it was by testing them one at a time for how ever long it takes if you still like the products :)
Reply:The problem is although Burt's Bees claims to be all natural it is still a cheap product and they DO use fillers. So you may be allergic to one of those. Even Bare Minerals says it's all natural but they do put bismuth in their makeup and it has caused many problems. Cheap products = cheap products.
