I was bitten last year by an insect while in Lanzarote.?

The bite was at the back of my neck and drove me mad with itching.The itching then spread onto my scalp and now months later I have red itchy skin all over my body.My doctor just says it is ecxema and has given me topical creams but nothing has worked so far.


Has anybody got any idea what this could be?

I would ask him to send you to see a dermatologist.
Reply:Sounds like psoriasis but this wouldnt be caused by an insect bite.

Reply:Sounds as though you have developed a reaction to the bite - this happened to me a couple of years ago with a mozzie bite. My doctor gave me cream and some tablets to take but I can't recall what they were. I would go back to your doctor or try another doctor in the practice.
Reply:I too seem to have the same issue - I got badly bitten by something when in Spain last summer all over my arms and chest. Now, I have red itchy skin on my arms and legs that seems to be worse at night. I went to see the dermatologist and he just gave me some cream. I plan to go back and see him again as, although it improved it, it has not gone away completely. The problem is, also, that eczema is not always curable, it can be a condition you need to manage for the rest of your life, and I wonder if that is all I need to do. May I join you on this cry for help??!!
