How do you women do it?

I'm 5'8" and slightly over weight at 159, though I carry most of my weight in my chest (36G) I also have sever eczema, a skin condition in which one has abnormally dry itchy skin. (leaving me with scars and open sores from scratching.) I have always dressed in frumpy loose clothing, though I have some stuff to flatter my figure hiding in the back of my closet. I have decided that I want to be very in-style this spring since I will be turning 17. luckily the clothes I have hidden are in-style for this spring. how do you people wear your clothes with pride and confidence when people are constantly putting you down?

How do you women do it?
don't be so self-conscious

BE confident and assertive
Reply:just be yourself.

who cares about what other people think.
Reply:We have super powers.

No...I have no idea but what people exactly are putting us down?
Reply:its the "f*ck u, imma do me" attitude. You can do it too.
Reply:DAMN! 36G i didnt kno they even went that far in the alphabet! not to be rude but i jus never heard of that. ur lucky! lol i just dont care what anyone thinks of me, its not their opinion and not their bodys so i think why should i bother caring what they think? every woman is beautiful on the inside, trust! and the other stuff is just a little detail.

my little sister has eczema, and my mom puts this cream on her after she gets out of the bath. and you cant really tell she has a problem, maybe its because she is so young
Reply:why not try hitting the gym? exercise, aside from getting you into shape, can also really help your confidence. after i am done with a session there,i feel wonderful and accomplished. you can also check out magazines that will help you chose clothes for your body type. seventeen has them alot, but im not a big fan of the clothing in that magazine. you could also try instyle.

one of the best things you can do to improve your confidence is hold your head up and smile. it really does help. and as for the putter-downers, just remember- theyre jealous.
Reply:Just be confident and don't care what people think. You would get used to it and soon you wouldn't care at all.

Hope i helped.
Reply:Either we`re really confident, we like ourselves too much to listen to anyone else, or we`re good actresses.
Reply:be who you wanna be not what others want to see who cares about others if they have 2 feel good by making you feel ugly they must feel really ugly inside POWER TO YA
Reply:5'8" and that weight is not overweight... not in the least. I'm sure you have a beautiful curvy figure!

I have very fair skin and freckles and have always been put down because of it. I was so self conscious that I never wore dresses or skirts, or even shirts that showed too much.

But, I came to the realization that fair skin can be beautiful and unique (especially since I live in southern California).

I've always wanted to wear cute clothes, so now I have been doing more to look the way I want. I dress in the clothes that flatter me and that I feel comfortable in, while looking "stylish."

I suggest you wear whatever you feel comfortable in, you wont be able to build confidence in certain things if you don't try them!

Don't allow people to put you down, I know it's much harder said than done... but it's possible. Look at every beautiful thing about you and your body, don't focus on the negative.

I'm sure you're lovely, you just need to tell yourself so. =)

Good luck!
Reply:it's about loving yourself and not listening to others. no matter who it is, when people try to put you down, refuse to believe them. You are a very special person. there is no one else on this planet like you. The way I see it, if people are talking about me they are giving someone else a rest. Besides, only losers talk about other people and put them down. Winners know there is more to life than being an a$$hole, so they go on and do their thing. You can do this. Dare to be yourself. It will take courage, but you can do it. What right do they have to run their mouth and make you feel inferior? They don't. And, they can't - unless you let them. Don't let them. Just dare to be yourself!
Reply:its not them that hurt your feelings, you let them hurt your feelings. just don't care because the more they talk, that means their jealous because if they didn't, they wouldn't talk about you. so don't mind them.
Reply:well the key is to be confident. do those ppl pay your bills (corny..but that's what my mom says lol)? no. in the end of the day, all that matters is if your satisfied with who you are. wear those outfits and walk in a room with your head held high and thinking your the hottest girl there.
Reply:First, Love yourself. Be yourself. In time everyone will realize that it is what is inside that makes the person. Not all of us are really as confident as you might think, just ask. Everyone has things that they dislike about their bodies that others would never conceed to.

There are hundreds of thousand of people who are over weight or who do not weigh what the stereotype states. Those people have a choice to make the best of what they have to work with and to emphysize their good points. Many do not and dress as you said "frumpy" because they feel more comfortable. Over weight does not mean ugly, it does not have to mean out of style or unpleasant. It is what you choose to make it. If you take care of yourself, it should not matter what size you are and it certainly does not make the person!

In the meantime: If you have the ability to change something that you dislike about yourself then make the sacrifices to make the changes. If you have no control over it, resign yourself to be who you are and hold your head high. Do the best you can with what you have, take care of yourself and knowing that you have will give you the confidence to wear those new clothes and strut! Those who are not superficial will appreciate you for the person you are, not what you wear or what size it may be.
Reply:my sister has eczema, psoriasis, and i forget what its called but it makes her lose her hair... im extremely proud of my sister she wears any thing any other person would wear showing her arms ( were she has psoriasis all over) and doing her hair in diffrent ways not letting any body speak any thing bad about her. idk why she walks with pride and confidence...she used to never want to go out and try to stay home and cover up but now she always goes out i dont know what to tell you about the pride and confidence but i just wanted to tell you because maybe if she could do it then you can to.
Reply:why worry about trying to impress people.

its stupid if they just want to be your friend because you look hot.

don't try to impress guys because its a waste of time when theres that guy that wont care what you look like and still loves you.
Reply:if you think you look good then don't let anybody get to you!
